Official Rules and Regulations (“Contest Rules”)






The Contest begins on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 9:00:01 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on April 30, 2015 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”).




The Contest is open to legal residents of Canada, excluding Québec, who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence as of the date of entry.  Employees, directors, officers, independent contractors, representatives, volunteers and agents of Crossing for a Cause (the “Contest Sponsor”), Douglas Wright Foundation, Miracle 10 Cosmetics Inc. (the "Prize Donor") and all of their parent and/or affiliated companies or organizations, and their advertising and promotional agencies, and contest Judges as well as those with whom any of the foregoing are domiciled (whether related or not) are not eligible to enter the Contest or win any prize.   




Entrants must have internet access and a valid Facebook account to enter the Contest.  If you do not have a Facebook account, you can obtain one for free at


To enter the Contest, visit the Crossing for a Cause Facebook page at during the Contest Period, locate the post(s) made by the Contest Sponsor regarding the contest and comment on that post with a message of encouragement for Michael McIsaac. 


Entries submitted by any other means will not be accepted. Proof of entry will not be deemed to be proof of receipt. Limit one (1) entry per person during the Contest Period.   Any attempt by any participant to enter more than once by using multiple/different Facebook accounts, identities, registrations and logins, or any other method will result in subsequent entries by the entrant being disqualified. The Releasees (as defined below) are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, delayed, ineligible, misdirected, deleted, unsearchable or destroyed entries or entries that have been removed by Facebook. Such entries will be disqualified. In event of dispute the entry will be deemed made by the “Authorized account holder” of the e-mail account associated with the Facebook account used to enter. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an internet service provider, on-line service provider or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Potential winners may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.


Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are found to have been submitted other than in accordance with these Contest Rules.  By submitting an entry, entrants agree to be bound by these Contest Rules and the decisions of the Contest Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in respect of all matters relating to this Contest.


All entries become the property of the Contest Sponsor and will not be returned.  Proof of submitting an entry is not proof of receipt by the Contest Sponsor. The Contest Sponsor assumes no responsibility for late, lost, stolen, destroyed or otherwise indecipherable entries or any inability to participate in the Contest due to any failure or technical malfunction of the telephone network, on-line computer systems or equipment, servers, access providers, software, poor reception, technical problems, failure of any e-mail or submission or due to any other reason regardless of cause.




There are two (2) prizes available to be won:


  • The Men’s Prize: One year’s supply of Miracle 10 Cosmetics Inc. skincare product, which consists of 4-5 skincare products, provided to the winner 3 times throughout the year. Approximate value of the Men’s Prize is $513 CDN; and


  • The Women’s Prize: One year’s supply of Miracle 10 Cosmetics Inc. skin skincare product, which consists of 4-5 skincare products, provided to the winner 3 times throughout the year. Approximate value of the Women’s Prize is $561-648 CDN depending on the skin type of the winner (to be determined by the Prize Donor in consultation with the winner once the winner is declared)


(each a "Prize" and collectively the "Prizes").


All costs and expenses not specifically mentioned as being included in a prize are the sole responsibility of the Prize winner.  Prizes must be accepted as awarded, are not transferrable and cannot be converted to cash except that the Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute all or part of a prize for a prize or prizes of equivalent value for any reason, including due to the unavailability of any prize. 




All eligible entries will be separated into two classes: the men’s class and the women’s class, based on the name of the entrant, by the Sponsor acting in its sole discretion.  On May 1, 2015 at approximately 2:00 p.m. ET in Toronto, Ontario, one (1) potential winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries in each class.  The odds of winning a Prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received in each of the men’s class and the women’s class during the contest period.




The name of the potential winner will be posted on the Crossing for a Cause Facebook page within three (3) days of the date he/she was selected as a potential winner and he/she must respond by sending a Facebook message through Sponsor’s Facebook page within ten (10) days of the notification being sent and follow all further instructions of the Contest Sponsor.


In order to claim his/her prize, a potential winner must provide all information required by Contest Sponsor, successfully answer, unaided, a mathematical skill-testing question and sign a declaration of compliance with the Official Rules and a release (including a publicity release). The skill-testing question will be administered on the declaration of compliance and release.  Prizes will only be awarded upon (a) verification of the answer to the skill-testing question and (b) return of the fully executed Release to the e-mail or fax number provided within the time specified on such form.


If the potential winner does not respond to notification within ten (10) days of the first attempt at notification, does not correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question in the manner prescribed, fails to complete, sign and return the Release within ten (10) days, or are otherwise is not in compliance with these Contest Rules, the prize may be forfeited and the Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to select another entrant from remaining eligible entries to be eligible for that prize, in which case the foregoing process shall apply to that selected entrant.




The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, terminate or modify the Contest and/or these Contest Rules, in whole or in part, without prior notice and with no obligation or liability, including, if for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, whether due to technical failure, tampering, fraud, corruption of security or other causes beyond the control of the Contest Sponsor. 


The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with or in any way corrupts the entry process or otherwise attempts to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest, including by cheating, hacking, deception, or any unlawful or unfair playing practices relating to the Contest (including but not limited to the use of automated quick entry programs), or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrants or the Contest Sponsor’s representatives.  Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be in violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages (including legal fees) from any such entrant or any other individual to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution




By entering the Contest, entrants agree that personal information collected in connection with the Contest may be used by the Contest Sponsor for the purposes of administering the Contest. 


By accepting a prize, the winner consents to the use by the Contest Sponsor of the winner’s name, city and province of residence, photograph, voice, likeness, image and statements about the Contest for any publicity and programming purposes, commercial or otherwise, throughout the world, in all media, in perpetuity without any obligation, notice, payment or compensation.




The Releasees (as defined below) make no representations, warranties or conditions, express or implied, in respect of any prize awarded in connection with the Contest.  Prize winners understand and acknowledge that they may not seek reimbursement or pursue any legal or equitable remedy from the Contest Sponsor or Prize Donor should a prize fail to be fit for its intended purpose or be in any way unsatisfactory to a prize winner.  WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, ALL PRIZES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND CONTEST SPONSOR AND PRIZE DONOR HEREBY DISCLAIM ALL SUCH WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND/OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.




By entering the Contest, the entrant agrees to release and hold harmless the Contest Sponsor, Prize Donor, Douglas Wright Foundation and their respective, parents, affiliates, advertising and promotional agencies, directors, officers, employees, representatives, volunteers and agents  (collectively the "Releasees") from any damage, loss or liability to person or property, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of participating in the Contest or accepting, using or misusing any prize.  The Releasees are not responsible for technical, hardware, software or telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, fraud, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions, whether caused by any of the Releasees, users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions that may cause damage to a user’s system or limit a potential entrant’s ability to participate in the Contest.  The Releasees are not responsible or liable to any entrant or winner or any person claiming through such entrant or winner for failure to supply a prize or any part thereof, due to a cause beyond the Releasees’ sole control.


This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook. Facebook is completely released of all liability by each entrant in this Contest. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest must be directed to the Contest Sponsor and not Facebook.


This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by Douglas Wright Foundation. Douglas Wright Foundation is completely released of all liability by each entrant in this Contest.




This Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law and is subject to all applicable Canadian federal, provincial, territorial and municipal laws and regulations.


The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Contest Rules will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision.  In the event that any provision of the Contest Rules is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, the other provisions will remain in effect and will be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. The Contest Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Contest Rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision.  When terms such as "may" are used in these Contest Rules, Contest Sponsor has sole and absolute discretion.  In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between these Contest Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, the Contest Rules shall prevail, govern and control.
